For this week’s news roundup, we’re paying tribute to Anthony Shadid, the acclaimed New York Times foreign correspondent who died last night of an asthma attack while reporting in Syria. Shadid, 43, won two Pulitzer Prizes, was fluent in Arabic, and authored several books.
